What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device. Each time you return, your browser sends it back, which lets the site remember something about you or your visit. The law that applies
In the UK, the use of cookies is governed by the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR), alongside the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018 where cookies involve personal data. PECR requires that you are told about the cookies a site uses and that you give consent before any cookie is set, unless that cookie is strictly necessary to provide a service you have asked for.

Analytics and measurement
These help me understand how the site is used: which pages people read, where they came from, what device they are on, and whether an enquiry came from an advert. They are set only if you accept them in the cookie banner. If you decline, the analytics scripts do not load and none of these cookies are created.

About the analytics services
Google Analytics
Google Analytics 4 is provided by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). It records page views, approximate location (country and city, derived from your IP address, which Google does not store), device and browser type, referring site, and interactions such as scrolling and outbound clicks. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store full IP addresses. Google may process this data on servers in the United States. Transfers are covered by the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and Google's standard contractual clauses. Google's own explanation is at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and you can block Google Analytics in every browser with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
PostHog
PostHog is a product analytics service provided by PostHog, Inc. (2261 Market Street, San Francisco, CA 94114, USA). This site uses PostHog's EU Cloud, so the data it collects is stored and processed in Frankfurt, Germany, not transferred to the United States. PostHog records page views, clicks and form interactions, device and browser type, and the referring site. It is configured so that no profile is created about you unless you identify yourself, for example by submitting the contact form. PostHog's privacy policy is at posthog.com/privacy.
Your choices
When you first visit, a banner asks whether you accept analytics cookies. Declining has no effect on how the site works. Your choice is remembered so you are not asked on every page.
You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's cookies in your browser. The banner will appear again on your next visit. You can also block or delete cookies from any site through your browser settings:
Blocking the strictly necessary cookies may stop the contact form from working, because the spam protection depends on them.
Changes to this policy
If the cookies used on the site change, this page will be updated and the date at the top revised. If a new category of cookie is introduced, you will be asked for consent again.
