There are plenty of places you can get a website for £300. The result is usually the same: a GoDaddy site builder or a templated build that was sold to ten thousand people at once. It loads slowly, it looks like the next competitor down the page, and the SEO foundations are poor.
At the other end, big agencies will happily charge you thousands for an initial build and hundreds a month to maintain it. Most of that money goes to account managers, project managers, and layers of junior staff. Not the people actually building the thing.
We sit in the gap. Hand-built websites on par with what the big agencies deliver, at a sensible price, with one person building the site and answering the phone. That is it.
What we build on
New builds go on modern frameworks, the kind the big agencies are only just starting to adopt. They produce faster, leaner sites that load quickly, rank better, and don’t look like a template someone else paid for.
I’ve built plenty of WordPress sites over the years, and I still support existing clients on it. If your business genuinely needs WordPress (a content team already trained on it, a specific plugin your operation depends on) that conversation is still on the table. We’ll talk through the trade-offs honestly before committing either way. What we won’t do is recommend WordPress by default for a new site when modern alternatives deliver better results for most businesses.
What we do build
Fast
We target 95+ on PageSpeed Insights for both mobile and desktop. A site that loads in under a second converts meaningfully better than one that takes three. This matters for ads, for SEO, and for the first impression you make on someone who has never heard of you before.
Built by hand
Every page, every component, designed and built from scratch for a specific business. No off-the-shelf themes. No drag-and-drop builders bolted together. Bespoke sites load faster, convert better, and do not look like the next competitor down the page.
Mobile first
Most of your visitors are on a phone. Everything we build works properly on mobile, not just on a desktop where it is easier to make something look good.
Built for search from the ground up
Technical SEO is part of the build, not a bolt-on: fast load times, proper heading structure, clean markup, structured data, canonical tags, and correct redirects. You should not need a separate technical SEO engagement to fix things that should have been right from the start.
Landing pages that convert
If you run ads, you need landing pages. A homepage is designed for many different visitors with many different intentions. A landing page is designed for one specific visitor with one specific intention. We build dedicated landing pages that are focused, fast, and set up to turn clicks into enquiries.
Content management, if you want it
By default, sites ship without a CMS. Most clients prefer us to handle tweaks on the monthly retainer, because it’s quicker and keeps the site consistent. If you’d rather edit things yourself (blog posts, service pages, copy changes), we can build a lightweight CMS in. Say so at the start and we’ll spec it in properly rather than bolt it on at the end.
Who builds your site
You do. Together with us.
When you pick up the phone, you speak to the person writing the code and designing the pages. Not a junior developer, not a project manager relaying messages, not an apprentice on their first job. That means things get done faster, nothing gets lost in translation, and you always know exactly who to call.
What to expect
A typical project runs four to eight weeks from kickoff to launch, depending on scope and content. You see progress as it develops. No disappearing for six weeks and delivering a surprise.
We start with a brief and a clear scope document before any design work begins, so you know what you are getting and what it costs before we start. Milestone payments mean you are never paying for work that has not been done.
After launch, most clients move onto a monthly retainer: hosting, updates, small tweaks, performance monitoring. You pay a sensible monthly fee and you get to forget about your website. If you want a CMS so you can edit things yourself instead, that gets spec’d in at the start rather than bolted on at the end.
We are not the cheapest option, and we are not trying to be. But we do not inflate prices with busywork either. You pay for the work. The work pays for itself.
